On today’s Captiva fishing charter, we first headed to the grass flats.

There were tons of Pompano running in water that was between three and six feet deep. We quickly switched our lures over the specific Pompano lures and we started to hook up!

For those who do not know, Pompano are a great fishing and eating fish. Around Sanibel and Captiva we usually find schools of them in the fall and spring.

After we grew bored with the Pompano we headed offshore to fish for some Spanish Mackerel!

The cold in the North has pushdown schools of glass minnows down the Florida coast, and close on their heels are the Spanish Mackerel! We were tearing them up offshore of Captiva!

All in all a great day of fishing!

Book a Sanibel & Captiva fishing charter or North Captiva fishing or Cayo Costa Islands shelling charter, and we’ll have a lot of fun!
